VW Fox Twitter Hunt in San Paolo

Twitter based treasure hunts have become a little bit cliché, but I’m loving the creative spin VW added to this campaign in Brazil to promote their Fox car.

This is what they did:

They partnered with the music festival Planeta Terra (obviously a good fit as the Fox is aimed at the younger audience)

  • They hid a dozen of ‘lost tickets’ around San Paolo for users to hunt
  • They created a hashtag #FoxAtPlanetaTerra specifically for the campaign connected to a Google Map API
  • The more users would tweet using the bespoke hashtag, the more the zoom would increase on the Google Map to find the specific location for each pair of ticket

    Nice twist I’d say hey?
    Nice use of integrated technology with Google Map and Twitter 🙂
